Putting your "hunger games" to rest... in your stomach:)

Dear Margaret,

Speaking of Easter, I thought I'd share with you my go-to,  foolproof way to make hard boiled eggs with perfectly yellow centers (courtesy of "the godmother", Martha Stewart:). I make a batch at the beginning of every week and always bring them with me on the go for when hunger strikes.. two egg whites have 11 grams of protein and only 50 calories..(I usually eat only one yolk in the morning and give the rest to Wrigley (my dog) so he gets healthy Omega 3's and I don't fill up on too many fats). Since women are supposed to get about 15-20 grams of protein at every meal and 5-10 grams at every snack, hard boiled egg whites are the sure-fire way to achieve that... They are the miracle protein in my opinion! Eat them with your toast in the morning, paired with an apple and nuts for a snack, or make into a healthy egg salad smeared on a Wasa cracker for lunch...

So, here is how to make the perfect hard boiled eggs with no grey in the center:)

*Place however many eggs you desire in a pot (but don't crowd them) and fill pot with water until all the eggs are covered by about 1 inch or so. Bring water to a boil and then remove pot from heat, cover with the lid, and set a timer for 13 minutes. Once done, run the pot of eggs under cold water and let them chill a little. That's it! Now pack them with you to work and bust out these little lean proteins that will end your "hunger games" :)

xo,

Kara
