Dear Kara,
I like your Summer products some of them I am going to have to try. I'll let you know what I think. (& Readers we want your feedback too!)
Tonight Michael and I made an easy summer dinner that was delish! Cajun Trout (Trout has started to become a trendy fish in the city, I am seeing it everywhere) Watermelon Feta Salad, Yellow and Green Squash, and Baked by Melissa for dessert. I know you have tasted the yummy-ness of Baked by Melissa but one thing I love about them is they ship. They also let you customize and write anything you like; they would be adorable for any party.
The fish and salad are something I am for sure going to make for dinner parties over the summer. Both are delish, beyond easy to make and look like so much more effort.
Here are the recipes....
Cajun Trout....Serves 4. 4, 4oz filets, spices below, 4 tbsp of butter (but we didn't even use half of it and of course I would have rather a substitute but Michael insisted) and amazing!
1 Tbsp Paprika, 2 Tspn Dry Mustard, 1 Tsp Cayenne Pepper, 1 Tsp ground Cumin, 1 Tspn Black Pepper, 1 Tspn White Pepper, 1 Tspn dried Thyme, 1 Tspn Salt |
Mix Spices, Melt Butter, Dip fillet in butter (both sides) and then bask in the spices |
We cooked them on the grill and it was about 2 minutes each side. You can also cook them on the stove top in a pan. |
Watermelon Feta Salad
Arugula (the bitterness in the lettuce balances out the sweetness of the watermelon), Watermelon, Feta, Red Onion, Balsamic Vinaigrette |
Mix all together and add the dressing right before about to eat |
Yellow and Green Squash
Yellow and Green Squash cute lengthwise, We brushed them in olive oil, salt and pepper |
On the grill they get cooked perfectly! I also love the lines |
Dessert
DELISH! Chocolate Chip, Wedding Cake, Tie Dye, Red Velvet, Peanut Butter Jelly, Cinnamon, Smokes, Cookies and Cream, Mint Chocolate Chip, & Cookie Dough | | | |
