4-1-1 Hamptons

Dear Kara,

Those videos sound awesome. I am always impressed by you, you don't let excuses stop you from working out. I most of the time just am not in the mood, after a long day of work or I just can't wake up early.

I thought you might enjoy hearing about some of my favorite spots in the Hamptons. The Hamptons is actually an area on the South Fork of Long Island, New York comprised of lots of tiny towns and villages. (Westhampton, Quogue, Hampton Bays, Shinnecock Hills, Southampton, Water Mill, Bridgehampon, Sagaponack, Sag Harbor, Wainscott, East Hampton, Amagansett, & Montauk) From the city most people either drive out there, take the train or ride the Jitney/Luxury Liner (bus). You can also sea plane, helicopter or private plane your way out for the truly fabulous. Michael has once even taken a NYC taxi! It tends to be at least a 2 1/2hr trip. The traffic is getting lots worse so when out there it is a big pain to get from village to village.

The Hamptons is all about the preppy Ralph Lauren style, seersucker, gingham, polka dots, and bright chinos. The days are about the beach/pool, riding bikes or taking a jog. There is also a soul cycle, core fusion, and physique that stays booked up. Any of which you are sure to have a star sighting. If you hit a rainy day, one of my favorites is to do a wine tasting at the Wolffer Estate. Great rose.

The lunch must have is a lobster roll. For the first couple years I made sure to try eveyone's lobster roll and I honestly think Cyril's is my favorite. Cyril's is a legendary place where Cyril sits at the first booth drinking, smoking, wearing a sarong, button down, and an Hermes or Chanel scarf around his neck. (quite a site) Cyril's is also known for their signature frozen drink, the BBC. The BBC is a delish blend fresh Banana, Baileys, colada, run and a floater for good measure. I have never been able to finish more than 2. Cyril's picks up as the beach starts to empty and becomes quite the scene.

At night people eat out, there are tons of restaurants, or the ever popular BBQ at home or Clam Bake on the beach. There are lots of farmers markets so everything is super fresh. My two favorite restaurants are Sen for sushi or the American Hotel for a traditional American dinner.

Perfect Weekend!
